Wow what a complex and emotional love story from Tijan. This book was so unique as it tackled very tough subjects like mental illness and substance abuse. It was definitely not your typical romance but I absolutely loved it. Cheyenne has had a crush on Cut for years but it appears that he never noticed her until they meet in adulthood. But as soon as he does notice her, he falls and falls hard. But these two have a number of obstacles in their way- in particular that Cheyenne is the younger half sibling of Cut's best friend and there is not shortage of family drama. Additionally- Cheyenne won't let Cut in at first because although she has always wanted him, she doesn't want to create problems in his life with her condition. Cheyenne just ripped me heart out with her love for those around her (especially Cut) and Cut just melted me heart as he was the perfect pillar of strength for Cheyenne. I absolutely hated Cheyenne's family as they absolutely contributed to her mental condition. But I adored her relationship with Hunter and I was so glad that she ended up letting Cut in so that he could stand up for her and help her see how much she was able to shine. And the epilogue is just perfection! Tijan is one of my one click authors and she just has this magical way of hooking you with her characters and storytelling!
