OMG this book gave me all the feels!! It is no secret that LJ Shen is my fave author. I have loved pretty much any book that she has written so I was immensely excited for this story. And I was so blown away by how unique and different this story was. I feel like LJ has taken us to new heights by writing a small town romance that was gritty and raw and absolutely EVERYTHING!

West and Grace are two flawed souls that come together to create magic together. My heart broke for West as we got to know his bad boy persona all the while knowing that there were hidden depths of hurt and vulnerability. And GRACE!!! Ahhh she made me cheer for her with her grit and feisty spirit and then tugged at my heartstrings with her strength to overcome obstacles. And these two together were absolute gold that gave me a bit of slow burn but with blazing chemistry! The fire metaphor in the book was definitely apt as it really symbolized the struggle for Grace and West and their ability to grow and change! The character development in this book was fantastic as I became so emotionally invested in them (both individually and together).

I LOVED every moment of this book and would give it ALL the stars!! This is one of my top reads of 2020 and it will be on my reread list. You need Texas and Maine in your life!!! Prepare yourself for a story that will capture your heart with it's story of redemption and love.
