Review:

"What happens when the stars fall, Jude?" "I'll put them back in the sky for you."

It's hard for me to express just how much this book wrecked me in all of the best possible ways. When the Stars Fall is a heart wrenching and gritty second chance story that manages to balance to heart ache with humor and optimism. Jude and Lila (aka Rebel) hooked me from the very first moment as they meet early on in their childhood. Lila was such a strong and feisty heroine with such great vulnerability. I connected with her immediately and my heart broke for her losing her family so young. And Jude- what a great book boyfriend with his cocky swagger but protective nature. These two together were magical! I loved their banter and competition as they built their friendship and danced around their slow developing feelings for each other. It was obvious that they were a perfect fit from the start! And OMG the chemistry as they transitioned into their love story!! The first part of the story definitely created an emotional investment in their love story even though you could sense trouble on the horizon with Jude's impending deployment.

"How many times can one heart break, Jude?"

How many tears did I cry in the middle section of this book? Lila just tore my heart out with her love for Jude. And Jude just struggled with what he had scene as part of his military experience. This part was just so real and raw and I couldn't stop reading even as my heart was hurting.

"I'm not going anywhere without you, Rebel. You're my ride or die."

I adored the second chance part of this book because Jude definitely realized that he had some groveling to do to get the love of his life back. I was rooting for him and was so glad to see his commitment to winning Lila over. I also LOVED Noah and Brody (and Brody definitely needs his own book). Emery Rose knocked it out of the part with this emotionally complex love story that had me laughing, crying and rooting for the HEA! Give it all the dang stars!
